Angie Diamond

Family Life Pastor

Pastor Kevin has a diverse Christian upbringing, with his parents' Catholic and Baptist backgrounds leading him to grow up in a Brethren Church. Early exposure to ministry through Young Life during high school ignited his passion for making the Gospel exciting. He met his wife, Angie, in high school, and they married after college. They both served in youth ministry roles while attending The Ohio State University.

A pivotal moment came when a pastor at Vineyard Columbus challenged Kevin to embrace his calling to ministry. Kevin and Angie served at Faith Covenant Church for nine years, during which their two sons were born, and Kevin pursued theological education at North Park Theological Seminary. Upon completing his Masters of Divinity, he received lifelong ordination from the Evangelical Covenant Church in Word & Sacrament. They then moved to California, revitalizing an existing 146-year-old church and establishing Celebrate Recovery.

After a visit to Melbourne Beach, they felt compelled to start a new church with a family-friendly, scripture-focused approach. After assessment and training, they were confirmed in their calling and relocated to follow it. Community involvement is crucial to them, and they eagerly serve and lead their new church on the Space Coast.

WHAT WE AFFIRM

As a member of The Evangelical Covenant Church, we seek to form and nurture communities that are deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in the world. The purpose of Covenant affirmations is to make clear the values and principles that have guided the Evangelical Covenant Church since its founding in 1885. For Covenant people, our essential beliefs are summed up in what we call Covenant Affirmations:

  1. WE AFFIRM THE CENTRALITY OF THE WORD OF GOD.
  2. WE AFFIRM THE NECESSITY OF THE NEW BIRTH.
  3. WE AFFIRM A COMMITMENT TO THE WHOLE MISSION OF THE CHURCH.
  4. WE AFFIRM THE CHURCH AS A FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS.
  5. WE AFFIRM A CONSCIOUS DEPENDENCE ON THE HOLY SPIRIT.
  6. WE AFFIRM THE REALITY OF FREEDOM IN CHRIST.

The Evangelical Covenant Church is a rapidly growing multiethnic denomination in the United States and Canada with ministries on five continents of the world. Founded in 1885 by Swedish immigrants, the ECC values the Bible as the word of God, the gift of God’s grace and ever-deepening spiritual life that comes through a faith with Jesus Christ, the importance of extending God’s love and compassion to a hurting world, and the strength that comes from unity within diversity.

The Evangelical Covenant Church is:

  • Evangelical, but not exclusive
  • Biblical, but not doctrinaire
  • Traditional, but not rigid
  • Congregational, but not independent

The Evangelical Covenant Church is a pilgrim church. Until Christ comes, we worship, serve, and witness so that the whole earth may hear God’s voice, learn of God’s love, and experience God’s joy.
