Planted for a Purpose

“They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”

— Psalm 1:3, NLT

Planted for a Purpose is Rock Harbor’s capacity campaign to steward our campus for greater ministry—opening welcoming spaces for faith and fellowship, strengthening weekday rhythms, and aligning every square foot to help people meet Jesus, grow as disciples, and be sent out.

Capacity Campaign Goal

$750,000.00

Planted for a Purpose is about every square foot on mission…from doors to discipleship, lobby to sanctuary, hallways to courts. We’re maximizing the campus to multiply impact—welcoming people, strengthening worship, equipping the next generation, and opening everyday spaces where faith and community flourish. Purpose-built spaces…people-shaped ministry…for Jesus.

In Phase 1,  the first $500,000 will be invested in mission-priority projects that maximize our current facilities and properties to reach the most people with the good news of Jesus.

After that, Phase 2 begins: for every dollar given, 50% will go to ministry investment and 50% to debt reduction—expanding impact while strengthening long-term stewardship, with clear, transparent updates along the way.

On Sunday, November 16, we’ll share a Day of Thanks—a special Sunday Worship where we gather together to bring to the Lord what He has put on our hearts to give and/or pledge to Planted for a Purpose. This is a moment of worship, gratitude, and faith—offering our gifts to Jesus and trusting Him to multiply ministry today and in the season ahead.

  • Phase 1 - First $500,000

    Worship Space (Sanctuary)

    • New restrooms to reduce bottlenecks and improve accessibility
    • Clean sightlines & clear sound to every seat
    • Flexible seating to increase capacity and allow multi-purpose ministry use
    • Refreshed stage design for additional seating and direct sightlines
    • Acoustic wall update behind the stage screens for clarity
    • Direct sanctuary→breezeway connection with added doors and a covered path

    Hospitality & Family

    • Permanent Nursery & Mother’s “Cry Room” near the sanctuary
    • Maximized Breezeway with outdoor seating and a live A/V feed from the sanctuary
    • Fellowship Hall upgrades with a permanent A/V/L system and overflow capability from the sanctuary
    • Put the final touches on the coffee bar

    Discipleship & Everyday Ministry

    • Dedicated youth room designed for mid-week gatherings
    • Staff office space to support weekday care and ministry
    • Education Center (308 Orange) prepared for multi-purpose classes, groups, and training

    Campus Flow & Safety

    • Parking & traffic flow improvements for safer, smoother Sundays & Special Events
  • Phase 2 - 50% Ministry Investment & 50% Debt Reduction

    Debt Reduction

    Current Balance

    308 Orange St. = $544,162

    1805 Oak St. = $1,476,900

    Monthly Payments

    308 Orange St. = $4,020

    1805 Oak St. = $10,340

Giving towards our debt (with current loan rate/term) lowers our  payments:

    • $10,000  ≈ $966.7/yr
    • $50,000 ≈ $4,833/yr
    • $100,000  ≈ $9,667/yr

    Phase 2  Ministry Investments

    Tier 1

    • Update Kitchen to be able to cook & prepare meals
    • Update & Add Lighting in Sanctuary

    Tier 2

    • Updated Sanctuary Screens
    • Outdoor Recreation Additions
    • Updated Signage & Displays
    • Breezeway Air Cooling System
  • Phase 3 - Beyond $750,000 (Overflow for Ministry & Mission)

If the Lord provides beyond $750,000, we’ll keep the same simple posture: 50% to Ministry Investment and 50% to Debt Reduction.

In Phase 3, the Ministry Investment half may include remaining facility enhancements and strategic future staffing and mission support (e.g., next-gen discipleship, pastoral care/administration capacity, local/global partners, ECC church-planting support).

    Guardrails for Wisdom & Unity

    • Sustainable pace: Any staffing investments will be contingent on demonstrated giving (e.g., 12 months of coverage) and LT approval.
    • Debt reduction continues: The other 50% accelerates principal pay-down to strengthen long-term ministry flexibility.
    • Transparency: We’ll publish simple updates showing how Phase 3 dollars are allocated.
