8:30 am - Summer Playlist - Track 3 - Father's House
Happy Father’s Day! I’ve loved being a dad. There’s just nothing better. I also love the fact that we can celebrate together one of God’s great callings—fatherhood.
Today, as we reflect on this special day, let’s remember the lyrics from Cory Asbury's song, Father’s House:
"The story isn't over, if the story isn't good
Failure's never final when the Father's in the room."
These powerful words remind us of the hope and love that comes from our heavenly Father. Today, we look at three verses depicting the apostle Paul as a spiritual father to a young church in Macedonia. From this brief description, we discover three simple observations of what it means to be a great dad.
(Caution: if your dad didn’t match up to these, rather than being disappointed, be the kind of person, like Paul, who will make a positive impact. Remember, as Cory Asbury sings, "Lay your burdens down, here in the Father's house." Let go of past disappointments and embrace the opportunity to create a loving and nurturing environment.)
